A YEAR 11 pupil claimed a collection of medals for Great Britain in a swimming competition in Puerto Rico.

Ross Nolan was selected to represent his country due to the huge amount of effort he shows each week and his passion for the sport.
Ross was just one of 15 people chosen throughout the entire country to take part in this competition.During his weeklong stay in Puerto Rico, Ross was able to win two bronze medals, these coming in the 50 metres front crawl and the 50 metres backstroke, as well as a gold medal in the 4x50 metres relay.
Ross said: “The whole day of travelling was worthwhile in the end. I really loved my time in Puerto Rico and I hope to go back there one day.”Later this year, Ross will once again be in competitive action when he represents Great Britain once more in a further competition held in Jersey.
He added: “In the future I hope to represent Britain in either the Olympics or the Paralympics.”
